Prayer is one of the most powerful weapons God has given us. Prayer is a conversation with God. Praying is a way of relating to God and strengthening our relationship with Him. Just as we spend time with those we love, so making time to pray, we are seeking to grow in our relationship with the LORD. Prayer is the most personal way to experience God; prayers open our hearts, minds and souls to God and challenges us to grow, change, and love. The book of Ephesians tells us that God’s desire is for us to pray “on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests”.
One of our favorite prayers to recite is The Lord’s Prayer:
“He said to them, When you pray, say:
“Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.” Matthew 6:9-13 NKJV
